안녕하세요! 영어강사 조형주(Jo)입니다.
저는 여러분처럼 한국에서 나고 자라 입시 영어를 공부했고, 미국 공립고등학교 교환학생 경험을 비롯해 대학 시절 미국 어학연수와 인턴십을 통해 실전 영어를 익혔습니다.
이후 한국으로 돌아와 약 3년간 내신/입시 영어학원에서 강사로 일하며 교육 경력을 쌓았습니다. 그 후 좋은 기회로 중동의 외국 항공사에 입사해 다양한 국적의 동료들과 승객들을 응대하며 약 6년 동안 실전 영어와 비즈니스 영어를 더욱 자연스럽게 다듬을 수 있었습니다.
영어는 잘하는 것도 중요하지만, 무엇보다 직접 말해보는 것이 가장 중요합니다.
입 밖으로 꺼내야 비로소 내 것이 되니까요! 영어의 기초부터 자신감 있는 스피킹까지 저와 함께 차근차근 시작해보실까요?
Hello! I’m Jo.
I was born and raised in Korea. Like many of you, I studied English through the Korean education system. Upon entering high school, I joined a student exchange program and moved to Texas for a year. While living in Texas, I gained hands-on English speaking experience through daily social interactions, English classes at school, language training, and an internship in San Francisco during university.
After returning to Korea, I spent three years teaching middle and high school students at a private academy in Seoul, mainly focusing on school exams. Later, I had the opportunity to join Qatar Airways where I worked with colleagues and passengers from diverse multicultural backgrounds.
During my six years in Qatar, I developed strong English communication skills in a truly global environment where English was the common language used by everyone.
Learning to communicate in English can open the door to amazing opportunities but the most important thing is knowing how to actually use it in real life.
You need to speak English out loud to truly make it your own.
